tHe Me BaG

The Primary sent a bag home with Aaliyah and asked her to follow the instructions on the back. They read:

Dear Parent or Guardian,

Your child has been selected to shine next week in primary. Please help your child find no more than ten items. These items should represent who your child is, what they like, etc. Please have your child bring them to class in "The Me Bag" next week to show to their classmates.

Aaliyah had such a great time finding stuff and labeling them. Here is what she brought and why...
1) Jewelry : Accessories are a MUST when dressing up
2) Tiara: Dress up is nothing short of fantastic in Aaliyah's world
3) Purple Bear: This has been glued to her hip since birth courtesy of her great grandmother Dee Dee
4) Flower: They are pretty and Aaliyah loves getting them as well as picking them (sometimes to our dismay)
5) Wall-E: Movies open the imagination, especially Pixar films like Wall-E
6) Notebook: Every artist needs a sketch-book - Aaliyah eats, sleeps, draws and so the cycle goes!
7) Book: Almost forgot, eats, sleeps, reads, draws and LOVES Fancy Nancy (fave books)
8) Paint Brush / Colors: An artist's tools - she has buckets of colors and paints (Very creative, just like Mommy!)
9) Apron: An artist on paper and a flourishing apprentice in the kitchen to her mother
10) Family Pic: Aaliyah loves photos, especially the 'Simpsons' rendition of our family - simpsOnize Me

This was such a fun activity for her and us...seeing her excitement over sharing her passions and interests was fantastic!

How did you get the Simpson picture of your family? That's awesome!

I'm glad Aaliyah had a fun time with that. I loved the Simpson's family pic. Aaliyah said you did it online? How? She is so darn cute. One Sunday we colored pictures of Adam and Eve and Aaliyah accessorize Eve with a big bow, a purse, and long pink fingernails. I thought it was too funny! She is such a girly girl! :)

so darn cute! I love that the primary does things like that to get to know the kids! I sure that will make her feel very special when she presents it!
