Hot Sand

Yesterday we were at a ward gathering and Aaliyah was all over the playground with friends. Jenny and I were swinging Adyson and Aaliyah came walking up with a concerned look on her face. I asked what was the matter and she said that she had picked up the "hot sand". We were puzzled so we asked if her if it was the gravel she touched or something...no luck. The pain in her voice made it obvious that she had really hurt herself, so I had her walk me to where she had picked up the "hot sand". We ended up at the BBQ grill and still resting inside was a nice pile of coals and ash or as Aaliyah called it "hot sand". Poor thing had been over there with the big kids and put her hand in and touched the coals / ash.

We got home and had her ice her hand down while we enjoyed The Chipmunk Adventure and Ice Cream Dots. She woke up today feeling like a million bucks and ready to watch the movie again. Lesson learned: Stay away from "hot sand".
