Treasure Hunt

Derek's Uncle Mike and Aunt Kim had us over last night for a seafood buffet. It was marvelous darling! Aunt Kim was a champ in the kitchen...we had blue crab (or as Aaliyah calls it "Crab Chicken"), fish balls, shrimp, and an HGH induced catfish.





The girls opened presents and then Uncle Mike said there was one more thing to unwrap. Inside a bag was a garden shovel and a treasure map. Oddly enough, on the way over that evening Derek commented that instead of the weather being 71 degrees he wished it was 51 degrees. Well, it only took a few hours but it dropped. We walked outside to begin the hunt and wow was it chilly. We followed the outlined paces to each destination. It was a lot of fun, especially with Aaliyah really into it. She got to be on an episode of "The Backyardigans" for a bit.





The treasure was actually a money tree. Apparently you can get them at Wal-mart...they have everything there! What an awesome gift and activity for our little family, we really enjoyed the adventure and appreciate the time and effort Uncle Mike put into it for us. Truly an exceptional evening.
