Christmas 2007

Christmas 2007 was spent with just the four of us. We opened presents on Christmas morning, had our breakfast - christmas wreath, scrambled eggs, Derek's famous christmas smoothie, and fruit salad...yummy and then took some "I just woke up" pictures of the family in our Christmas PJ's... what a sight that was.

Late afternoon through the evening was spent driving to the airport and catching a flight to Denver. We are with Derek's family through the New year. A couple of our friends told us that traveling on Christmas Day would be easy and that everyone would be very friendly...yeah, not so much. The airports in Houston and Denver were packed. We did get to enjoy the ever so delightful Phoenix Chicken (the staple dish of Hunan's) which is now in the eating section of the airport.

Denver was freezing when we got here, a bone-chilling 19 degrees, quite the change from the 75 degree weather we had in Houston. We are so excited to play in the beautiful white snow... and to breath in the cool crisp Colorado air.

Dustin, Derek's brother picked us up at the Denver Airport and drove us back to Derek's parents house where a hot meal of brown sugar glazed ham, creamy mashed potatoes, and frenched style green beans were waiting for us. Oh so yummy. What a great end to our Christmas 2007.
