11:28 am Arrived at Denver International Airport only to find that all lots and garages are full...AHHH!!!

Paw Paw was on a flight that same morning and was to drive the car home to Windsor upon returning so we didn't want to leave it at a shuttle stop and have him freeze to death before he got home.
11:46 am: Drove around the airport twice, then concluded that the garage was NOT full so we manuvered around parking cones and found a spot near the entrance.
12:01 pm Engaged in a verbal tennis match with the Southwest Airlines counter rep. She was not convinced that Addy was under 2 years old and was not letting us check our bags in until we verified her age. I flew to Detroit and did not have to convince anyone on either flight of Addy's age, nor did we have to when we left Houston 2 weeks ago. Another AHHH!!! Packed away was the shot record for Addy which validated our claim. The SW employee followed that little mess up with a request to remove 1lb. worth of stuff from one of our suitcases that weighed in at 51 lbs. Nice heh? It was just to spite us for arguing with her, but we did it anyways. We didn't want our bag getting flagged for an accidental mix-up on a flight to Egypt.
12:15 pm Bag #2 weighed in at 57.5lbs. We knocked the weight down to 51 lbs. (the precise weight of bag #1, which had to get a facelift) and she said just put it through the b/c the weight was fine. At this point we began to wonder what is going on?
1:05 pm Get a nice, healthy lunch from Mickey D's b/c Einstein Bagels only takes cash, and make it to gate C48 (at the end of the terminal...of course!). Sit down to eat and pull Addy out of the Baby Bjorn only to find a curious substance that has leaked through her white pants. Off to the bathroom for a change.
1:15 pm The plane is boarding...or are they?
1:20 pm Turned away from the gate b/c section A was loading in two segments for the flight. For those that have kids, you know that you are given a special "pass" to the front of the line if you have kids under 5 with you on a plane...not so much. We were pushed to the back of the line.
1:35 pm Boarded the plane (3/4 of the way back) and was asked by the stuartess to take off my nursing cloth that concealed my feeding child. Huh? The next flight attendant (we'll call him FA #2) came by and asked if Aaliyah was paid for b/c she was occupying a seat. Better yet, we were told that we were leaving late b/c 8 passengers are jumping on the flight to catch a revised drop-off in Austin. Another hour of air time added to our day.
4:50 pm (CST) Arrived in Austin.TX and asked if we could move up from the back of the plane to the front since there were only 16 of us on the flight at this point. They granted our request only to have FA#2 come by before take off and ask if Aaliyah was paid for...AGAIN!
5:40: pm Derek dozed off into a deep sleep and is awakened by FA#1, "Sir, YOUR DRINK!". I had my hand out ready to take his Sprite on my tray. Our nerves are shot at ths point in the day.
6:15 pm Finally home in Houston. We darted off the plane to baggage claim.
6:35 pm Get all of our suitcases minus one...Addy's car seat. Yep, we threw our hands in the air. It can't get worse...can it? We got a temporary car seat, a plastic bowl that was circa 1985...I love the 80's! Thank goodness for Beezer, he picked us up and let us rant a bit before we dined on Spinach Enchiladas from Los Tios. Delicioso!
7:30 pm Home at last, thank goodness we are home at last!
Thank you Southwest Airlines. See you in December.
