Pirate And A Pumpkin

Aaliyah's school had a parade Halloween morning for the parents to see all the wonderful costumes and personalities. This year Aaliyah dressed up as a pirate, but did want to be a devil at one point. In fact, one Sunday she told everyone at church that she wanted to be the devil. Thank you Pottery Barn Kids for the inspiration! Well, we had a pirate and a pumpkin. They enjoyed the 'Trunk or Treat' at the church and then we visited their great grandparent's.



It's exciting to watch Aaliyah-this is her favorite holiday. We are always looking for "spooooky eyes" and "beeeg pumpkin decorations". On the way home from visting family we realized we needed to get gas. It was late and so we were hurrying to get home. Derek pointed out a lit up, inflated pumpkin in a yard opposite of the direction we were going. Aaliyah loved it and proposed an offer. She said that we could go get gas, turn around and then visit the "beeeeg pumpkin". We sat there listening as she went over her offer again and then very confidently asked, "Daddy, is that a deal?". Already a saleswoman.
